Using the app
Is it really free?
Yes. Scoring games and running tournaments is free, with no ads, no paid tier and no feature limits. The site is kept online by optional donations. Donate →
Do I need an account or an app?
No. It runs in the web browser on any phone, tablet or laptop. There is nothing to download and no sign-up, for organizers or players.
Can players score games from their own phones?
Yes. Every tournament gets a 6-letter code and a QR code. Anyone who joins with it can follow the bracket and score games, and the scores show up on everyone else’s screen within a few seconds.
Can I show the bracket on a TV or projector?
Yes. The projector view fits the live bracket and the games in progress on one screen and keeps itself up to date, so you can leave it running on a TV for the whole event.
What if someone enters a score wrong?
Use Undo to take back the last round, or a finished game if nothing has been played from it yet. Organizers can also rename teams and change settings during the event.
Does it work without internet?
No. Scores are saved online so every phone sees the same game, so each device needs a data or Wi-Fi connection.
How long are scores kept?
For the life of the event: your game or tournament stays open at its code while you play, so anyone with the code can come back to it.
Games and tournaments
Can I score a single backyard game?
Yes. Choose Score a single game, enter the two sides, and tap each bag in as it lands. The app does the cancellation math, tracks who pitches first, and offers a one-tap rematch with a running tally of games won.
Does it support singles (1 v 1) and doubles (2 v 2)?
Both. Pick Solo players or Teams of 2 at setup. For doubles you can enter your own teams or list the players and let the app draw random partners.
What tournament formats can I run?
Double elimination (the ACA standard, with an optional grand final reset), single elimination, and round robin. You can also play a full or limited round robin first and seed the bracket from the standings. How to run a cornhole tournament →
How many teams can a tournament have?
Up to 64 teams or players. Brackets that aren’t a power of two get byes automatically. After a round robin, up to 16 teams advance to the bracket.
Can I run games on several courts at once?
Yes. Set how many courts you have, up to 32, and name them if you like. Games are assigned to courts as they free up, and the rest wait their turn. Leave it unlimited to play every ready game at once.
Rules and scoring
Which rules does it use?
The official American Cornhole Association (ACA) rules: cancellation scoring, first to 21 with no bust, and the ACA’s pitching order and fouls. Win by 2, other target scores, the skunk rule and a 20-second pitch clock are optional. Official rules →
How do you score cornhole?
A bag in the hole is 3 points and a bag on the board is 1. At the end of each round, subtract the lower total from the higher, and only the side that threw better scores the difference. The first side to reach 21 at the end of a round wins. How to score cornhole →
How far apart are cornhole boards?
For adults, 27 feet from the front edge of one board to the front edge of the other. For kids and casual play, 12 to 15 feet is common. Court and equipment →
Do you have to win by 2 in cornhole?
Not under the official rules: the first side to reach or pass 21 wins, even by one point. Win by 2 is a popular house rule, and the app offers it as an option.
What is a skunk in cornhole?
A skunk ends the game early when one side leads 7–0 or better at the end of a round. It is in the ACA’s older rulebook but not its current rules, so the app offers it as an option, off by default.
